In this post, I’m sharing our summer MUST DO list of activities for our family.

Writing out a list of things you want to do with your kids is so helpful in keeping track of all the things you want to accomplish. I had asked The Purple Alphabet community what was on their list and that inspired me to make ours.

Our Summer Activities List-

  • Summer Reading – Through local libraries, Barnes & Noble, and even at home with a sticker chart and rewards.
  • Field Trips – We’re lucky to be San Diego locals, so we have lots of locations, but our number one this year is Legoland. If you live close to a park like this consider the annual pass, it’s usually worth the cost, more than just a one-day pass. Venture to your local “tourist areas,” “farm picking,” or county fairs.
  • Get Outside – Hiking. Visit a new playground. Beach walk & play day. Pool/Waterpark visit. Tennis.
  • Learning – Art projects, using leftovers we have stocked up in our art closet. Try a new game. Finish school workbooks. Typing. Pen Pals.
  • “Need to Do” – All the dreaded to-dos that need to get done. Clean rooms, summer cleanout.
  • Shopping – Fill in those growing and season gaps.
  • Camp(s) – At least one or 2 summer camps, hopefully, a STEM and activity one, rock climbing? Tennis?
  • Other – Movies. Donuts. New ice cream places, small businesses. Road trip. Friend play dates.

Let me know if you have some things on your summer activities list, I’d love to hear them.
